My two love to chew. Chewing is one of their favorite hobbies. I shot a little video of them going to town on Merrick Flossies, which are one of their choice chews.
Gnawing on chew toys and items such as flossies not only can alleviate boredom, but are great for teeth. In addition to brushing your dog's teeth, providing chews helps keep their teeth clean by scrapping plaque off their teeth. Dental health in dogs is very important because just like in humans, it effects their overall health. Providing you dog with chews can reduce your dog's stress level, too. There are many health chews on the market right now. A few brands that come to mind are Merrick, Zukes and Free Range Dog Chews. For my sister's Labrador Retriever, we like to give him filled bones as they seem to take him a little while to finish.
I never give my pups chews while they are unattended and avoid rawhide chews as I have read they aren't healthy for pups to ingest.

they look like they are having a feast . . .I feel sad my babies no longer can have them. Tiger becomes too agressive and it would not be fair I give Annika and not him . . .sure sucks for both of them LOL.
oh I forgot that mention that I got a very good tip from my local pet store when giving them flossies . . because it is not safe to leave them unattended because they could choke on it when they get to the very end, try putting a small "C" clamp on one end of the flossie . . .this way they can never ever get to choke on the end piece . . this "C" clamp can be purchased at any hardware store . .they are a great thing to have (no more than $4.00).
That is a hard situation to be in when one dog is agressive about a treat. Thanks for the tip about the clamps, that is great to know.
I have fed my two Maltese Zukes treats like their mini naturals and Venison Z-Fillets without any problems. Both are extremely healthy. Personally, I like that Zukes are made in the US. Many great store like G.W. Little carry Zukes treats and chews.
